Dog Food Secrets Review

Anyone that has a pet, understands the benefits that they bring. Not only will a pets companionship make your life happier but it will make it longer according to studies. However, just as a pet dog may improve your life so too you must take on the responsibility of maintaining it’s quality of life. Indeed, some people may say that the nurturing aspect of your relationship with your pet can be a tonic for everyday stress.

There are three elements to maintaining your dog’s quality of life. These are :

Preventative health care
A safe and happy home

Dog Food Secrets deals with the important aspect of providing good nutrition for your pet. It’s claim is that by implementing the ideas and following the recipes in the books you can increase the life of your dog. Whilst this is impossible to verify, it is possible to notice the changes in your dogs condition and behavior and attest to how the knowledge contained in the books has helped me care for my pet.

To begin with, Dog Food Secrets is a number of books and some audio files. The main book is a comprehensive book of dog nutrition and health care. It not only goes into how to provide a proper diet for your dog but other health related issues like why homemade food could be an option for your dog, nutritional requirements for a dog based on breed and type, vets and vaccinations, and providing proper exercise.

The second half of the book is a list of dog food recipes. They are listed by the types of meals like a regular recipe book. So you get main meals, breakfast, soups and stews and various other categories. For each recipe, it lists the ingredients needed to make the meal and how to prepare the meal. It also lists the number of calories that the meal will provide your dog.

This is important because there is a difference between a calorific and nutritionally balanced meal. Far too many dogs are becoming overweight because they eat too much and don’t exercise enough. They may also get too many calories without the necessary nutrients leading to malnutrition. Obviously, obesity and malnutrition are things to avoid.

So the main book lists recipes but gives a complete picture on how to feed and care for your dog including exercise and preventative care. This is a good book that you will use as a reference guide for your dog health.

The next book is a recipe book about creating nutritious dog treats. There have been a number of issues with commercial dog treats causing health problems so this is a useful book if you give your pet treats. Many people use treats as an aid to training so this might be useful.

There is another massive book of dog food recipes. Again this follows the standard recipe book format. It breaks the recipes down into types of meals. Then within each recipe, it lists the ingredients and how to prepare the meal. With the recipes in the first book and these recipes you won’t be stuck for ideas when it comes to feeding your dog.

The confidential dog food report is a book that is really useful if you are planning to feed your dog with commercial dog food. The report is essentially a breakdown or review of the dogs foods available. It lists the best dogs food brands to go for. For each brand on the list, it explains why this dog food is good, where to get it from and why it may not be suitable for your dog.

There is another book that is basically a history of the dog. How the dog evolved and the breeds available. It’s a big book that can be useful as a reference guide.

There are some mp3 audio files that can be played on an mp3 player or burned to disc and played on the cd player. They are an introduction to dog training and could be useful if you are training your dog.

Our Dog, Rossiges, is an Australian bulldog. He is 2 years old now and is a healthy and well behaved dog. Being a large dog he is full of energy and needs to be trained a bit more (we are still training him). Although we still feed him some commercial pet food from time to time, we use as many of recipes from the books as we can. We would probably use more homemade food if we were organized enough but sometimes it’s not always possible.

I found Dog Food Secrets good for the recipes and for giving me an overall picture of how to provide a nutritious diet for our pet. Also, Rossiges loves some of meals, especially the canine quiche in the morning. This is another important consideration of any food that your pet is going to eat. If he doesn’t like the food then he won’t eat it and this may lead to malnutrition.
